Chandigarh. Responding to the speech of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the BJP rally held in Sirsa two  days ago, Congress MP Deepender Hooda asked the Home Minister to clarify if the Chief Minister of Haryana was Bhupinder Singh Hooda or Manohar Lal. He said even after 9 years, the BJP is still showcasing projects started during the Congress government as its achievements.

Addressing a press conference today in Sirsa, Deepender said the Home Minister’s speech was a clear indicator of how rattled the BJP is with the popularity of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda. “Addressing a rally in Sirsa, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took Hooda Saheb’s name repeatedly. Considering the popularity of Hooda sahab, it is natural for the leaders of every opposition party to be worried,” he said.

Deepender Hooda said that even after 9 years of formation of BJP government in Haryana, the union Home minister is asking questions to Leader of Opposition Bhupender Singh Hooda. “In a democracy, the Opposition asks questions and the government is to answers. But even after 9 years of government, the Home Minister’s speech gave the impression that he was addressing the rally of the Opposition,” he stated.

Deepender said that even after 9 years, the 4 projects of education and health, which BJP showcased, were from the Congress’ term. “Not only did we get projects like the National Cancer Institute (NCI), NID, IIIT Ayush University approved, but even their foundation stones were also laid,” he said.

Releasing the photos of the foundation stone laying ceremony of these institutes, Deepender said the National Cancer Institute at Badsa AIIMS-2 campus was a contribution of the Congress government and its foundation stone was laid by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in January 2014.

“A total of 11 institutes were approved with NCI in Badsa AIIMS-2 campus. Similarly, the foundation stone of IIIT, Sonipat was laid in December 2013 by the then Human Resource Minister Dr Pallam Raju and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. The foundation stone of NID Kurukshetra was laid by the then Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and Hooda ji in May 2013,” he stated.

Talking about the Ayush University, Deepender said the Ayurveda College was started by the Congress government in 1972, but the BJP told it to be their work. Deepender taunted that even after running the government for 9 years, the BJP government does not have anything of its own to showcase.

Deepender said the people of Haryana are asking questions about how big projects worth thousands of crores, sanctioned during the Congress government, went out of Haryana. “Home Minister should please tell why the Rail Coach Factory, which was approved in the Railway Budget to be set up in Sonepat, went to Varanasi? Why did the international airport built between Meham, Hansi and Bhiwani move to Jewar (in Uttar Pradesh),” he questioned.

“Home Minister may please tell the people of Haryana that how did the country’s first Defence University, which was approved in Gurugram, move to Gandhinagar, Gujarat? The foundation stone of this Defence University to be built on 205 acres of land was laid in the year 2013 by the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. All these big projects kept going and the Haryana (BJP) government kept silent,” he pointed out.

Deepender Hooda said that the people of Haryana are also asking the question that why has Haryana completely collapse in the last 9 years?

“The union Home minister may please tell the people of Haryana, how the state that was number 1 in per capita income and investment, went to number 1 in unemployment, corruption, crime and drug addiction? In the NSO report that came out three days ago, it was said that Haryana is at number 1 in inflation,” he stated.

“In the NCRB report released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Haryana ranks number 1 in crime against Dalits, women and Haryana is the most unsafe state in the country in the Social Progress Index. Haryana also became number 1 in terms of death due to drug abuse, but the Home Minister did not give any answer to this in his speech,” he quipped.

Deepender Hooda said that Haryana’s BJP-JJP government is the most failed government and said there is a competition between BJP and JJP to emerge at the forefront of corruption. Answering three D’s with four D’s, he said that BJP’s policy is driven by 4 Ds.

“Divide and rule: Sowing seeds of discord and making brothers fight each other is BJP’s policy, Dacoity – looting tax on petrol diesel, Divert- divert people’s attention from real issues,  Deceive – people on issues like Rs 15 lakhs of all, Rs 5100 pension, 2 crore jobs every year, doubling the income of the farmers,” he stated.

Before the press conference, MP Deepender Hooda paid tribute to Jathedar Baba Ajit Singh Ji at Gurudwara Chilla Saheb by attending his Antim Ardas. On this occasion, former MP Sushil Indora, MLA Sheeshpal Keharwala, Dr KV Singh, former minister Parambir Singh, Prof Virender Singh.
