The team of Crime Investigation Branch-2 succeeded in arresting Sheesha Singh, son of Pritam Singh, resident of Gumthala Garhu, District Kurukshetra, accused of growing intoxicant opium plant and recovering 606 opium plants weighing 29.6 kg, worth about Rs 1.5 lakh, from his possession. The team of Police was present in front of Gumthala Gadhu . The police team received secret information that Sheesha Singh resident Gumthala Gadhu had grown a large amount of opium crop without license and permit by barricading himself inside his enclosure. If the enclosure near Sheesha Singh’s house is raided, opium plants can be recovered from his enclosure . On information, the police team reached Sheesha Singh’s enclosure in Gumthala Garhu where a large number of opium plants were found standing. Gazetted officer Anil Kumar and Deputy Superintendent of Police Pehwa were called on the spot.
When asked about his name and address from the person standing at the spot, he told his name as Sheesha Singh, son of Pritam Singh, resident of Gumthala Garhu, district Kurukshetra. In front of the Gazetted Officer, the police team recovered 606 opium plants weighing 29.6 kg from the enclosure of Sheesha Singh. The value of the recovered plants is around Rs 1.5 lakh . After registering a case against the accused under the Narcotics Act at Sadar Pehwa police station, Sub Inspector Rishipal of Crime Investigation Branch-2 arrested the accused Sheesha Singh. The accused was presented in the honorable court and sent to jail by the court’s order.
