- The Demand for an Impartial Investigation into the wastage of 61 Crore rupees on Drain Construction Project:- Kumari Selja
:-Kumari Selja wrote to the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Demanding Action
- Chandigarh / 14th, December.
- The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, In-charge of Uttarakhand, former Union Minister, and Member of Parliament from Sirsa constituency, Kumari Selja has written a letter to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, demanding the repair of entry points in Sirsa and Fatehabad. Along with this, Kumari Selja has also demanded an impartial investigation into the drain constructed on the highway at a cost of ₹61 crore.
Kumari Selja informed that through the letter the Union Minister that lights and signboards need to be installed at the entry points of Sirsa and Fatehabad on the Hisar-Sirsa four-lane highway. She said that Fatehabad town is located on NH-10, and travellers entering Fatehabad from Hisar or Sirsa from Fatehabad, especially at night, face challenges due to the absence of lights or signboards. This causes vehicles to move in the wrong direction or directly ascend the highway. Travellers entering Sirsa may inadvertently head toward Dabwali, and similarly, vehicles in Fatehabad often go in the wrong direction. Additionally, on the Hisar-Dabwali stretch, around 41 km of drains have been constructed on both sides near key towns and villages at a cost of ₹61 crore. However, the slabs of these drains have broken, rendering them unusable. The funds spent on these drains for rainwater drainage have been wasted, and an impartial investigation into this expenditure is necessary.
Through her letter, Kumari Selja urged the Union Minister to ensure proper lighting and installation of signboards at these two locations. She also requested the repair of the drains and proper rainwater drainage systems to prevent inconvenience for travellers and local residents.
:-The Government should fulfill their Demands Instead of tear gas on farmers:-Kumari Selja
The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, Incharge of Uttarakhand, former Union Minister, and Member of Parliament from Sirsa constituency, Kumari Selja has demanded that the central government provide relief to farmers by meeting their demands. She said that farmers have been protesting for a long time, but instead of addressing their concerns, the government has been using tear gas and batons against them. Such treatment of farmers is not justified. Kumari Selja urged the central government to fulfill the farmers’ demands so they no longer need to protest.
