Chandigarh: On the interim budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament, the ruling BJP and Congress in Haryana have reacted according to their respective party politics. Ruling BJP state president and MP Nayab Saini has said that this budget will make the country a developed nation. Stating that he played an important role in the budget, he said that the budget is in line with the expectations of all the countrymen including farmers, businessmen, youth, women, poor and middle class. Whereas leader of the opposition, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has said that only formalities have been completed in the name of the budget. This neither provided any relief to the taxpayer, nor did it show any roadmap to reduce rampant inflation. Farmers’ MSP and other demands have also been completely ignored in the budget. Housewives, labourers, employees and business class have also been disappointed with the budget.

Giving his reaction on the Union Budget, BJP State President Naib Saini said that every section of the society has been taken care of in this budget, and the outline for realizing the vision of Prime Minister Modi is also clearly reflected in the budget. The Finance Minister has kept in the budget those achievements of the Central Government, which made India the fifth largest economy in the world.

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda has said that only formalities have been completed in the name of the budget. This neither provided any relief to the taxpayer, nor did it show any roadmap to reduce rampant inflation. In this, MSP and other demands of the farmers have also been completely ignored. Housewives, labourers, employees and business class also felt disappointed with the budget.

Hooda said that the government’s fiscal deficit continued to increase in the last 10 years. Till 2014, during the UPA government, it was only 4.8%, which has now increased to 5.8%. Whereas there has been a huge decline in the growth rate of GDP. The average growth rate during the UPA government was around 8%, which could not even reach 6% in the 10 years of BJP. There is no hope of improvement in the economy from this time’s budget also.
